Don’t Underestimate The Power Of RSS Feeds

Never Understimate The Power Of RSS FeedsSo you have published your Squidoo lenses, maybe manually Tweeted them, shared them on Facebook, and maybe added them to Digg or Stumbleupon, but if you haven’t harnessed the power of your RSS Feeds, you are missing out on a lot of promotion for your lenses, much of which can be automated.

There are various Lensmaster RSS Feeds that you can find on Squidutils, which show your top lenses by lensrank, by date updated etc, and I find the latter very useful indeed for helping to promote my lenses.

I use a Free site called Twitterfeed (log in with your Twitter id) in conjunction with my Squidoo RSS Feed that shows my latest lens updates, to automatically Tweet these, as well as sending them to my Wall on Facebook.

This saves me having to manually share them, and if I am in a “lens tweaking” mode, then I know that up to 5 lenses will be Tweeted every 30 minutes without me having to think about it.

You can also have articles about new lenses published to sites like Zimbio and Open.Salon automagically, which adds to your backlinks.

Don’t forget also that you can add your Squidoo RSS Feeds to your blogs, using the RSS Widgets, so they display in the sidebar.

This helps you to reach a much wider audience, and it’s done without you having to think about it too.

These are just a few ideas, and if you have blogs, don’t forget to add your latest articles as Widgets in the sidebar of your lenses as well using the RSS Feed Widget.

I hope this helps, if so please leave a comment to let us know what difference it made, or if you know of some other good places to use RSS Feeds.
