Life can be short, yes, but even if life turned out to be long, long, long, we would only ever have BUT the moment that is under our feet.
That is true when we are healthy, when we are happy – just as it is true when we are sick or when we are depressed – just as it is true when we do an act of selfless caring kindness – just as it is true when our thoughts are dark and cruel – just as it is true when we are dying – just as it is true that when we die, we will die in the moment that is under our feet.
Bottom line: there is no other moment – ever.

There can be no genuine philosophical/spiritual improvement made to our nature without a sound understanding of that it means to BE in the moment.
Moreover, there can be no genuine philosophical/spiritual improvement made to our nature without the desire to practice this new understanding through each of the moments that present themselves … under our feet.
