Come To Bournemouth For A Spring Weekend

While the water might still be a bit chilly for most, the sun at this time of the year can still be nice enough for some early sunbathing, and it’s a great opportunity to get out and see the Spring flowers and blossoms.

Bournemouth is a wonderful place to visit in the Spring time, when the blossoms are all out on the trees in the Chines, and the Spring flowers are blooming in the Lower Gardens that lead from Bournemouth Square down the the pier.

Why come to Bournemouth for just a day though! There is so much to do in the Bournemouth area, so spend the weekend – or longer!  There are plenty of Bournemouth Hotels and Accomodation to choose from, so come visit this pretty area of Dorset and don’t forget your camera.

Bournemouth England’s Best Beaches

Bournemouth is the finest seaside resort on the South Coast of England with miles of golden sandy beachesThe seaside resort of Bournemouth on the South Coast of England is arguably the finest in the UK, with miles of golden sands and plenty of things to do for visitors of all ages.

The beaches lie at the foot of towering sandstone cliffs and along the whole length is a promenade lined in many places with beach huts.

The most popular stretch of the beach is between Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier, and east of Boscombe Pier there is now a surf reef which is attracting surfers from all over Europe.

As well as the beaches, Bournemouth has a lot of other attractions, including the Pleasure Gardens, Russell Coates Museum, various Theatres and Leisure Centres, and the whole area is filled with historic towns and locations.  The nearby city of Christchurch has ruins dating back 1,000 years and is a great place to spend a day out.  Christchurch is also on the edge of The New Forest, which was a hunting area set up by William The Conqueror.   A few miles west lie the historic town of Poole with it’s famous harbour, and at the entrance of the harbour Sandbanks, a sandy peninsula that is now home to the rich and famous.

On a more cultural level, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra are world famous, and the town is also home to some large conferences at the BIC (Bournemouth International Centre).  Both Bournemouth and Poole have locations that host events such as West End shows and concerts.

This wonderful part of the South Coast of England is not well known to most Americans, yet it is still less than 40 miles from other places that they know well, like Salisbury and Stonehenge.  If you are planning a visit to the South Of England, Bournemouth makes a great base for covering a large area and many different types of attractions.
